Web resources

This page was developed for my use and is not intended to share with others at this time. It is a collection of programs, software, etc... that will help educators that work with children that have special needs access the general education.

Co-Writer is a program that will help the student who has a disability in writing due to physical limitations or cognitive limitations. It can be found at http://www.donjohnston.com/products/cowriter/index.html This is a good resource for teachers to use in their classrooms and parents to use at home. I tried to find the cost but was unable to. I will try to continue to find it but you might be able to when you view this site.

Read: Outloud This program is a text reader that will allow students with reading disabilities the opportunity to access the curriculum. This could be used in the resource room to help the special education students with on grade level texts. It is costly but would be good for districts to invest in so that all children have the opportunity to learn. The cost is $299.00 for use on 1 to 4 computers. More information is available at http://www.donjohnston.com/products/read_outloud/

This website was discovered in Dr. Wissick's course. It is a great reference for teachers to use when learning about differentiating instruction. Differentiated Instruction It can be found at http://www.ncrel.org/sdrs/areas/issues/educatrs/leadrshp/le0bow.htm
